The pandemic hit suddenly. There were many signs but none rang an alarm on time. People barely understand what happened and actually what is still happening. Most are deeply absorbed in their egos while society is crashing. The media, as always, spread fear, politics keep playing games, economic interests remain constantly above the value of human lives, and conspiracy theories are becoming the new normality. In a moment of crisis, our civilisation has clearly failed itself.

However, in all that, we were forced to look around and unavoidably explore and recognise our reality. Indeed, introspection became a natural reaction while our need to share grew. We valued our familiars and beloved ones, people we share intimacy with. We ate, we walked and we spent time together. But mainly we communicated and felt each other. We realised that we are not alone; that we stand together because what we share is way more than what separates us. We strengthened our bonds sharing an experience.

With those portraits, we pay homage to people who were there and the part of ourselves we shared.
